How to calm your dog – especially on New Year’s Eve? Every year again! And once again, everyone is trying their hand at the so often discussed The possibilities – which range from medication to earplugs and eggnog – to desperate nightly car ride is enough.
But trainer and dog whisperer Martin Knauder asks: Have tried everything – but are
Are we also talking about the dog?
That’s what we’re going to do now!
A few tricks and some training and it works better than you think. And it’s worth a try: many other situations are also resolved in this way.
And what- if your dog is also permanently relaxed? Then it will also be your own life! How does it work? Find out here!
No matter how strong your dog’s fear is:
SNACKING – as a primary need in life – is stronger!
The wonderful thing: dogs share their world with us! We just have to learn their language.
Our dogs know everything – before we do. They can smell our fear and stress – we haven’t thought about that yet. And smelling a million times better than humans is not only a great achievement – it also shows that dogs function totally differently from us: Dogs function completely differently from us. Let us take this into account when living together with them- then it will also work on New Year’s Eve with its terrible firework noises.
Now it’s hard to go on a snooping adventure walk on New Year’s Eve. make. But you don’t need to. Enjoy a relaxed New Year’s Eve – together with your family and your dog. Utilization- Music and whatever other rituals you have – be sure to keep them. And with the- what follows – you should start training as soon as possible. Trust – bonding and relaxation also play a very important role in these situations. Role. And many a dog person will certainly be more relaxed too!

How to prepare it:
1. Perform all rituals as usual
2. The walk limit to the area of a sniffing lawn-
< 7 minutes nose work = 1 hour walk > 3.
Sufficient supply of super reward for 25 minutes (noise duration)
The goal: During the popping noises, the dog concentrates so much on sniffing that it doesn’t notice what’s going on around it.
Your questions about the New Year’s Eve dog are reassuring:
Can you use any sniffer turf?
It’s certainly worth it – to pay attention to quality here too. The first Knauder sniffer turf has been in use for 7 years. Pollutant-free – durable – machine washable with appropriate density and depth. Safety is also important. Well stitched- the dog cannot untie the knot.
Which treats are super-rewarding?
Size and consistency play an important role. Treats should not simply be swallowed quickly. It’s about time and the feeling to be especially rewarded.
With QCHEFS Leckerli – Happs and away- not! The dog must crunch and chew for some time. This makes the reward more valuable. And with the crunchy sound, it’s a real super reward. The dog finds: That’s why I concentrate and work hard.
QCHEFS are healthy, low in calories and, above all, low in odor. Sniffing natural treats makes nose work even more interesting.
Be sure to provide water and encourage them to drink – even with a little taste. Otherwise the nasal mucosa will dry out.
How to start calming down on New Year’s Eve?
On the same level as the dog, it’s time to share! People spread their odor evenly by hand over the sniffing lawn. We are also looking for this smell – not just the smell of the treat. It shouldn’t be too easy.
How does it stay exciting?
The dog is allowed to watch the first treat. The treat stays in your hand when you bury it in the sniffing lawn. Then take the hand with the treat out again and show him your prey and share it with him. You give him the treat. This is in nature and your dog is very happy about it. Little by little and only a few treats at a time hide – then it stays exciting and you are in control. But there must also be no longer interruptions. give a refill due to lack of treats.
The sniffing fun must not be disturbed – otherwise the attention is interrupted.
When does the sniffing game end?
At the latest when the firecrackers stop – but the “New Year’s Eve sedative” does not stop working yet! Your dog has accomplished a great feat – cognitively and with his whole body: 300 breaths per minute is a tremendous lung performance. The muscles also have to work hard. He just wants to rest and may fall asleep on the sniffing lawn.
But it was his thing and the result: exhausted and happy.
A great start to the new year for everyone!
Try it out for yourself!
By the way: QCHEFS also brushes your teeth and the GABBA it contains relaxes dogs as well as humans with a cup of milk to help them fall asleep.
QCHEFS treats are available in all sizes!
The QCHEFS sniffing lawn bundle already includes Mminis for little ones – Dreierlei for older children and SIZZLES for everyone.
