Coconut oil for dogs
belongs in every dog’s household. But many are unsettled and know
which coconut oil to buy for dogs and where. And dog people in particular can use it for all kinds of applications. Against ticks, mites – for a beautiful coat and healthy skin and also for clean teeth. Which quality do I need for which application?
This important question arises for 3 reasons:
– Is the quality sufficient for my application?
– am I paying the best price for it?
– Is it a sustainable product?
What is important when it comes to coconut oil for dogs?
The most important ingredient in coconut oil for dogs is lauric acid. It is a medium-chain fatty acid and gives coconut oil the properties we need: naturally antibacterial and antiviral.
Their smell deters ticks, mites, fleas and lice. It also fights viruses and fungi. It strengthens the immune system and has a positive effect on cholesterol levels.
However, it is only contained in native – i.e. cold-pressed – organic coconut oil. It is not decisive for its effect – whether it contains 54% lauric acid or only 49%. The highest salary is advertised accordingly and is much more expensive. Even specially bottled coconut oil for dogs is – as so often and without reason – more expensive than for humans. In addition, the quality is not indicated. Today you can find very good virgin (cold-pressed) organic coconut oil in all supermarkets with the best price-performance ratio. Sales are good and so it is fresher than in stores where little of it is sold. So you are supplied with good quality at a very reasonable price.
