Parsley for dogs → or really something against bad breath?

Parsley for dogs
– It is usually used with the good intention of stopping bad breath. This also works for a short time. We are totally satisfied with it as a vitamin C dispenser and delicious herb topping. With its diuretic effect , it also supports the bladder and kidneys. But if we really need help with bad breath, parsley for dogs is better left to someone stronger.

Why parsley is not enough for dogs with bad breath?

Quite simply – the mouth bacteria live on. Dental plaque forms tartar faster than in humans. Bacteria multiply and combine with food residues. Minerals harden the plaque and form hard tartar. At first the tartar is invisible. It has the color of the teeth or sits above and below the gums – also on the tongue side. So he goes unnoticed for a long time. At the latest, bad breath will then alert us. This is definitely a sign to take action. Parsley for dogs only masks the odor, but does not eliminate the cause.

What helps more sustainably than parsley for dogs?

Coconut oil has a natural antibacterial effect. But only if it is native – i.e. cold-pressed – does it contain 50 % lauric acid, which can then take effect. However, coconut oil for brushing teeth must be applied and it must be brushed with a toothbrush. This is not yet the perfect solution either. However, we know from the cottage cheese compresses used for centuries to treat a sore knee or bronchitis that cottage cheese also has a natural antibacterial effect. But how do you get the dog to chew the cottage cheese so that it stays in the mouth for a short time and can take effect? With cheese bones it works like this: he can chew the puffed cheese bones well. To prevent snaring: on contact with saliva it starts to stick like chewing gum and the dog has to chew and cannot simply swallow it. There are rock-hard bones for nibblers. Softened with saliva, the little teeth can erode the bone. This way, they are not harmed and there is plenty to keep them occupied.
