Joints in dogs → new knowledge: Simply implemented!

Joints in dogs – when should I start paying attention? Is there any new information on this? The Hanover University of Veterinary Medicine has investigated this. Find out here – how to strengthen your dog’s joints! And how this can even be done with household remedies!

Why should you do something for your dog’s joints in the long term?

Every 4th visit to the vet is related to the musculoskeletal system. Many of these diagnoses have nutritional causes. And that starts with the puppy.
Here are some important key points to bear in mind:
1. the absolute amount of calcium is important for the skeleton – not the Ca:P ratio.
2. excess protein does not have a negative effect on skeletal development.
3. weigh fast-growing puppies every 2 weeks and check their nutritional status
assess. The amount of food should be adjusted accordingly.
Recommended energy intake:
Puppies from weaning – 4th month of life = 3 x resting metabolic rate
from 4 – 12 months of age = 2 x resting metabolic rate

Here is the important insight: It’s simple – do something for healthy joints in dogs!
Scientific studies: Gelatine hydrolyzate as a feed additive – is it any good?
Significantly fewer amino acids – which are needed to form collagen – were detected in the blood of animals with chronic diseases. But if their concentration in the blood is increased, they are also stored in the cartilage.
So the dog gets gelatine!

What is suitable for supporting the joints in dogs?

Collagen is formed from these amino acids: Glycine, proline and hydroxyproline.
Their level in the blood increases with the intake of gelatine and high-quality protein. You can cook bone broth for a long time for this. The gelatine goes into the stock water.
It consists only of high-quality protein and is free from fat and cholesterol.
Powdered collagen hydrolyzate is most commonly used. With high bioavailability and short-chain peptides, it can be easily absorbed by the intestine. This inhibits the degeneration of the cartilage. And regeneration is also stimulated. Therefore 20 g/day is sufficient.
Symptoms of the complaints are reduced: standing up, walking up stairs and the overall enjoyment of walking improves. Everything is much easier for our animals. And their pain is reduced. This has been proven.
But all essential amino acids are needed to function. Therefore, supplement the feed with quark or cottage cheese. It is the high-quality protein with all the amino acids. They are not all contained in the feed meat.
But what if staying healthy is so easy?
